The Sorg Easel
(The David Sorg Signature Easel)
An artist's studio easel that is close to perfection...
This unique studio easel is for professional and
serious amateur artists who paint in oil, acrylic, or pastel. The Sorg Easel offers you
two very important features and a host of smaller details that will make your painting
time more productive and enjoyable.
If you've ever been frustrated by the time and effort it takes to adjust the
height of your canvas or panel, or worse, had a painting fall to the floor as you
struggled with poorly fitted pieces and knobs and cranks, you'll find a welcome solution
here.
This H-frame easel was created after many years of experiences with an assortment of other
easels of various designs and prices. Like you perhaps, I wished for an easel that
would adjust the canvas quickly and easily to accomodate standing or sitting. Either
position gets tiring after awhile. I wanted to buy one that would allow me to work on a
vertical format canvas without climbing high or stooping low. And I was disappointed to
discover that even easels that were supposed to be high quality (and high priced!) were
difficult and time consuming to adjust.
Eventually I did discover an existing studio easel that adjusted very nicely,
though it lacked a lot of other features that I thought were important, (like a paint tray
and solvent cannisters, among others) and the least expensive model was $1,495.00.
The studio easel offered here has what I believe to be the finest value available
in features, quality, and price. Please go to the ABOUT page
for a complete description of the Sorg Easel.
Beginners (and anyone else), if you would like some ideas and opinions
of what to look for and what to avoid in any studio
easel you are contemplating, here is a short article that will
appear in another window.
